I am just to be front up and honest, I really don't like the tv series. I can just tell that all of the creativity (with the exceptions of the "Through the Eyes of a Spike Tail" episode, "The Sky Color Stones", and the "Spooky Night-time Adventure" episodes. I thought those three were the better episodes. All of the others were simply bland. I understand why this show is as childish as it is. This show is aimed towards very young kids. However, I this show ruins absolutely everything LBT was about and it changed a few of the gang's personalities greatly.
Little Foot used to be a wise, loving, and bright kid, in the tv series, he seems to be bratty and a pain. Petrie is mostly a complete coward. Sure he is a scaredy cat in the movies, but in the tv series, the creators seem to make him a complete coward and nothing more.
Feel free to debate about this.

Wow...I never thought I hear one of these members from a LBT forum say that! And this is for the fans of the movies and TV show.
Well don't feel bad if you don't like the TV series Shaman. I like it myself, but there were some certain things that kinda annoying me. I was afraid I be the only one that I notice they show this for younger viewers too. The one thing that bothers me is the singing. I love singing don't get me wrong, but in some of the episode, I notice some of their songs have the same beat in the background when they play it. Seriously what's up with that?! Can't they think of better tunes? Jeez!

Don't be afraid to voice your opinion about certain subjects. As long as you word it out in a respectful way, there won't be any issues. Also, I'm sure there are some LBT fans here (but may not be active) that don't like the tv series very much. Also, on the GOF, some LBT fans don't care for the tv series either.

That right there just proves my point, about the lack of creativity. They (the producers) don't want to make any new tunes so they use whatever the have. Honestly, I think if anyone needs to work on something that they love, they need to give it their all.

I like some of the episodes, mostly the ones with sharpteeth. 8D;
But...I usually just watched the television show out of boredom. Don't get me wrong, it was cute and I do like it, but I kind of agree that it wasn't the same sense I had when I watched the first movie as a kid.
The singing gets on my nerves. I literally recorded the program when I wanted to watch it so I could fast forward past it. I dunno...I like some musicals, but the older I've gotten, the less patience I've had for songs in kids movies unless they're ...good, or catch my interest. ( lol, like toxic love in ferngully. still love that.)
I'm nuetral on the show, honestly. I think it can be cute, but it also can be forgettable. And I usually watch the movies when they play them, or sit through some of it. When it comes to the shows, sometimes I'll flip to something else.

So, I finally come across someone else who doesn't like the show.
I really, really dislike the show. I understand fully that it's intended for people who are much younger than 15 (my age, heh), but it still really annoys me. For a start, I feel like the butchered a LOT of the characters. I did like that Littlefoot was starting to show some faults, 'cuz nobody's perfect, but I agree that he's starting to turn into an arrogant, snotty brat. Also, Petrie. What's up with him? I'm starting to think he's become a total coward and completely unintelligent. Petrie was always noted as the more "fraidy" one in the group, but now it's getting excessive. Now that I think about it, I think all the kids have really been made too kiddie in the show. The exception for me is Chomper...he's the only one I can stand all the way. Otherwise, the kids' suddenly being ultra kiddieified (to me) really bothers me. As said earlier, I understand this is for very young kids, but still. The biggest disappointment for me was Ali. She is my absolute favorite kid in the series, now that Littlefoot and Petrie are not at all like how they were in the first movie. I watched the episode with Ali in it on YouTube last night, and I was VERY disappointed with how her character turned out.
Also, the songs. They bother me. Greatly. Enough said.
Whenever I look at clips on YouTube of the show, I also feel a great detachment from the movies. When I think of the movies, I think of those awesome storylines with the cool characters and songs that were actually likeable. Then I see what was made out of the sieres through the TV show and...well, I'm disappointed.
Sorry if this gets to anyone. I just REALLY dislike the show and I wanted to get it out.

It's okay, you're free to express your opinion. < : I do agree. Watching the series, then watching one of the old movies I'd recorded back to back..There were quite some differences. Even though the more recent the movies get, the more 'kiddy' the plots become, they're still not quite as changed as the series.
Unfortunately, I think it's a problem with converting certain movies to tv series. I've noticed this issue and fan detachment from series a lot on the Disney channel. Where they'd have a movie like lilo and stitch- then make a television series for kids, and some of the changes are just too radical for a good number of fans.
I think it takes some caution and commitment to staying on track and in character with the original movies to make a really successful tv show based on a great movie. But, unfortunately, a lot of series just can't live up to the hype.

It's okay if you like the tv series, not everyone has to like it. In fact, I wasn't implying that it was wrong to like it, or anyone is less of a person to like it. I guess I am simply someone that likes depth in TV shows and stories. That's why I love Avatar. It actually had a story line and depth to it. Granted, I do like shows like Chowder and it's basically about nothing except for a zany catish boy, Chowder who lives in some town that everyone has a name after food. The best sitcom I think I have ever seen was Seinfield and that's a VERY stupid comedy show, yet I love it.
But the land before time series isn't a comedy, it's a kid's show. I suppose people over five CAN like it, but I just personally don't like it. :\
